Future Reward Payments for NHS Staff

Andrew attended the Prime Minister's statement in the House of Commons yesterday to raise the issue of future reward payments for NHS staff.

Andrew explained on Facebook, "I raised the issue of NHS volunteers and future reward payments for NHS staff with the Prime Minister in the Commons today.

"I was proud to be on duty as a First Responder with the Ambulance Service over Christmas and it is clear we will be asking more of volunteers and NHS staff in coming weeks and it is only right that this should be rewarded in some way.

"The Government's current approach of maintaining as few restrictions as possible is the right one in my view. Countries which have returned to the cycle of restrictions or partial lockdowns are still seeing skyrocketing record cases, shortages of tests and hospitals under pressure. France has seen record cases in Europe despite considerable restrictions.

"We cannot close down the country in a continual Covid cycle forever more. To avoid that we need to resource health systems across the world properly and ensure that people take up their vaccines.

"If you still have not had your booster, as 9 million haven't, or haven't had any vaccine at all, please please please get it. Your decision to delay or avoid is damaging the NHS."
