East Riding Council will shortly be restarting their compost giveaway scheme, which residents may remember from a couple of years back. Eight giveaway events are being held across the East Riding between Saturday 18 September and Friday 1 October, and 5,000 bags of compost will be handed out for free.
Andrew adds, "As residents may remember the last time I mentioned this scheme, the compost bags are made up of the various items households recycle in their brown bins every year, including: grass cuttings, hedge trimmings, small branches, leaves, flowers and weeds, food, peelings, bones, bread, meat, egg shells and more.
"I understand the Goole giveaway event takes place on: Wednesday 22 September, 4pm start – Goole, West Park, DN14 6UU
"You can drive along to the event and pick up two 15kg bags of compost, which will be placed into your car boot. I understand that all events will be Covid-safe and residents are asked to stay in their vehicles."
