Epworth Halloween and Isle Police Patrol

I spent Halloween in Epworth at the first Halloween event organised by the Town Centre Partnership that we helped to support the creation of. For a first event it was absolutely cracking and I had a great time, even managing to successfully ride a penny farthing down the street! There was a really good atmosphere on the street and the highlight for me was watching the Street Beat Dance Troop from the Isle performing thriller at dusk. The flickering streetlamps and carved pumpkins made it very atmospheric. Top marks and credit to all involved in organising the day.

In the evening, I joined the local police team on patrol across the Isle. It was a quiet night with only a few calls but we did get to visit various hot spots across the Isle including in Keadby, Owston Ferry and Epworth. We did successfully deal with a complaint about egg throwing in Crowle however, which seemed to me to be about the most pointless thing to engage in. Although we found a lad with eggs, we couldn't prove it was him but at least the Police got his name and took the eggs away!
