Andrew has provided an update on the “Be Internet Legends" programme, an internet safety initiative for children, which he has been promoting to local schools.
Andrew explains, "As I mentioned recently, I have been working with Google and Parent Zone to raise awareness of their “Be Internet Legends" internet safety programme, which I am pleased our local schools have taken part in.
"Google and Parent Zone have provided me with the latest update on their programme and I am pleased to inform local teachers that a new digital version of the Be Internet Legends Curriculum has now been made available online, in line with teacher feedback. I am informed that it is packed full of new and updated activities to help teachers deliver engaging and interesting online safety learning to their pupils - with a new focus on media literacy.
"The Be Internet Legends curriculum includes activities, lesson plans and expert guidance for teachers on all five pillars of the Legends code - Sharp, Alert, Secure, Kind and Brave - and a digital wellbeing module, with extra lesson plans to encourage pupils to reflect on screen time, healthy habits and their online/offline balance.
"The curriculum now includes a set of easy-to-navigate resources and interactive lesson plans to help teachers bring Be Internet Legends to life in the classroom. You can download it at parentzone.org.uk/curriculum."
