Andrew, who worked along with other local MPs and local Councils to secure the Siemens investment, has welcomed the announcement of £310 million of investment into the Humber to create the first of thousands of jobs. Over the past few years Andrew has met with the Prime Minister and Chancellor on a number of occasions to help progress the Siemens investment.
Andrew Percy MP says, "This is great news and has been made possible thanks to the millions of pounds of guarantees and grants made available by this Government. This is the most significant news for the Humber in a generation and could mark the start of a renewable revolution locally with thousands of jobs created. The whole of the Humber should benefit, including Goole, as the supply chain to service Siemens will also create thousands of jobs.
“I am especially pleased that the Prime Minister has been so involved in this issue, and myself and other local MPs have worked with him and other Ministers over what has been a very long period to slowly unlock the development. Coming on top of the millions to halve the Humber Bridge tolls, the million pound for Get Goole Moving and the millions for the Regional Growth Fund locally and the millions for local schools, nobody can say this Government isn't investing in the future of the Humber."
