Additional Funding Secured for the Crowle Peatland Railway Project

Andrew and his Community Support Officer Julie have helped secure an additional £11,392 of funding for the fantastic Crowle Peatland Heritage Railway project.

Andrew reports, "I'm glad to be able to share this good news locally during this difficult time.

"This funding, via the SSE Wind Farm fund, will help purchase a Lisbon tram which will be used as a construction base to build a carriage for the railway. This comes following the funding I mentioned in February for a café and shop for the project.

"The project will be completed with 600 hours of volunteer skilled labour and I am informed that this is one of two three-foot gauge railway sites in the country.

"As I have mentioned previously, I have been able to support projects such as this via the bid writing service I established to help support local good causes access funding, through my Community Support Manager, Julie Reed. We continue to work on other bids, which I will share updates on shortly.

"Thank you once again to the Railway Group, and to all the volunteers and everyone involved for their work on this project."
