Andrew has provided the below update on the Covid-19 vaccine rollout.
Andrew reports on Facebook: "The government's target to offer a vaccine to all over 50s, those aged over 16 with certain conditions, carers and health and social care workers by mid-April having been met, the vaccine programme is now open to those in their 40s. Well done to all in the NHS and industry who have helped deliver this.
"To begin with this will be those aged 45-49 who are now invited to book a vaccine online or by calling 119. You can book online via - https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination
"As with before, these appointments will be at Mass Vaccination sites such as the Baths Hall in Scunthorpe, Hull City Hall, York, Lincoln Show Ground etc. Residents can choose to wait to be called by their local GP Hub if they prefer.
"April is mainly a month of second doses as vaccine deliveries are more limited this month. However, the Moderna vaccine has now started to be administered in the UK and first doses are available for those in the 45-49 age bracket.
"Please do take up a vaccine. It helps keep us all safe and it is vital that those in younger age groups get their jab so that the country can continue on the roadmap to opening up again."
