£2.95m Investment in Roads

Andrew has warmly welcomed additional Government funding to repair local roads damaged by flooding and other severe weather. The East Riding will receive £1.3m and North Lincolnshire will receive £650,000.

On top of this the Chancellor yesterday allocated £200m to repair potholes across the country and North Lincolnshire Council's recent budget allocated separate monies for local roads.

Andrew says, “Everyone knows how annoying and unsafe potholes and damaged roads can be and of course the damage they can cause to our cars over time. The flooding and severe weather we have seen locally, particularly during winter, has made these much worse, so I’m pleased the Government are giving almost £3m to our local councils to help with repairs. The Chancellor announced £200m yesterday too, and our local authorities will receive their share of this.

“We saw a decade of under investment in our roads under the previous government, so I’m glad the current Government is making this investment in our local road network.

“If you find any potholes please report them to me and I can take these up, or directly to highway maintenance at North Lincs or East Riding Council.”
