£12 Million Awarded to East Riding for new Green Energy Scheme at Goole

Andrew has welcomed the government's funding for a new green energy centre at Goole.

Andrew explains, "A grant of £12million has been awarded to East Riding Council to help fund a new green energy centre at Goole.

"I understand the Goole Green Heat Network will allow homes and businesses to ditch their oil and gas boilers in favour of cleaner, cheaper energy. It will provide heat to homes and businesses, including local council buildings, from 2024, and will cut the town's carbon emissions by 322,000 tonnes over 40 years and create new skilled jobs during the construction stage.

"I have been in discussions with the Minister on this funding which is yet a further boost for Goole from the Conservative government.

"Added to the tens of millions the government has committed to our Town Deal, this is yet another major investment into our town, proving we are not only on the up, but also clearly seen as a key priority for government.

"I will continue to push for further investment and funding for our town."
