About
Local MP Andrew Percy is urging residents to join the battle to save jobs at BAe Systems in Brough by signing two important petitions. BAe recently announced that 900 jobs would be lost at the Brough site following weak international sales for its aircraft including the Hawk, which is built at Brough. Local MPs Andrew Percy and David Davis have joined with other MPs in fighting the proposals.
The two petitions are an important part of the campaign and local residents are being asked to sign both. The first petition is an online e-petition which, if it reaches 100,000 signatures, could see a debate in Parliament on the issue. E-petitions were recently launched by the Conservative-led Government to give people more of a say on what it debated in Parliament.
In addition to the e-petition Andrew has launched a separate petition for local residents to sign demanding that BAe rethink their plans and calls on the Government to support our defence industry, modern manufacturing and regeneration around the Humber so that skilled jobs and apprenticeships exist locally. This petition could also be presented to Parliament and can be signed by filling out the form below.
