POST OFFICE CLOSURES

So Brigg and Goole's Labour MP thinks it is local people who are to blame for Post Office closures. Well, that's what he says in the Goole Times this week.
Most laughably he then says he is launching a campaign against closures by THE government. No Ian, that would be YOUR government of which you, as a government whip, are a member. Therefore, it is YOU who are responsible for the closure programme announced the other day.

I fail to see how the public can be blamed for stopping the sale of TV Licences from Post Offices or for failing to allow Post Offices the freedoms they need to diversify and survive.

The question is will Post Offices such as Hook Post Office (above) and Gunness Post Office (below) which I visited this week now be faced with closure?

Yesterday, I was out delivering literature to various villages (I wont name them, don't want to give too much away) highlighting the threat our current Labour MP has put over the future of our local Post Offices. There is more action planned and I will certainly do all I can to protect our valuable Post Offices.

My thanks go to Burringham and Gunness Campaigner Rob Waltham for all his assistance on this campaign. Rob is pictured with me at the Gunness Post Office.
As reported in the Scunthorpe Telegraph last night I have launched an e-petition against these closures and I have more planned for the coming weeks and months!
