Labour Scrap Free Parking in Brigg

With practically no consultation, Labour's Scunthorpe bosses at the Council have decided to end the 2 hour free parking in Brigg. This was introduced by the previous Conservative administration and was greatly welcomed by traders and residents alike.
Myself and the local Councillors have launched a petition against the scrapping of the free parking and I have already had quite a few e-mails tonight from angry residents who received our leaflet today.
Brigg has struggled to maintain a vibrant centre and the loss of free parking is likely to force yet more people to out-of-town shopping centres. There has been no formal assessment done of the impact on trade in the town and Labour did not even have the decency to consult with traders, residents or the local Council.
Most hypocritically of all, back in May, the local Labour MP wrote letters to local residents urging them to vote for the very Councillor who will sign off the decision record that will end the cuts.
Anyone who wants to sign the petition can e-mail me or write to me at 32 Main Street, Normanby, DN15 9HS and we will add you to the petition.
