Andrew Meets Natural England to Discuss Moor Opportunities

  Brigg & Goole MP Andrew Percy met with representatives of Natural England last Friday to discuss the future of the Goole and Thorne Moor, a designated National Nature Reserve. The site is of national importance and was last visited by Andrew during the recent fire which damaged a large section of Goole Moor. Proposed Rail Link to London

  Both I and Martin Vickers, MP for Cleethorpes, met with Alliance Rail recently to discuss a new route they are proposing that would link Cleethorpes, Scunthorpe and Thorne South with London.   I raised the possibility of the new service stopping at Barnetby which Alliance said they would seriously look at. Winterton Junior School Grilling

  I was back again at Winterton Juniors recently to receive a grilling from Year 6 pupils at the school about campaigning. The whole year group are involved in a campaign to improve road safety in the town along with a separate campaign to tackle litter.   I meant to blog this ages ago but forgot to! I recently visited Singleton Birch in Melton Ross which is one of the leading lime producers in the UK. Their quarry has been in existance since the early 19th century and the company still retains its four digital original company number. In fact at one time the guy who gave his name to Aston Martin cars acted as Company Director!

Bus Surgery Hailed a Success

  A bus surgery organised by Brigg and Goole MP, Andrew Percy, and East Riding Councillor, Caroline Fox, has been a hailed a roaring success. The bus surgery took place last Saturday and saw Mr Percy taking a specially converted community bus to a number of local villages for an ‘open surgery’.
