Good news today that the Independent Planning Inspector dealing with the appeal by 4R against the East Riding Council's decision to refuse planning permission has been rejected, meaning that planning application has again been refused.
The reason for refusal however is relatively narrow and relates to lack of evidence from the 4R that they have been able to mitigate the impact of traffic on the local roads network in their application.
The other concerns we have all raised regarding impact on the SSI Moors and local amenity were all dismissed.
This is of course still good news that the appeal has been rejected but it will not prevent 4R from applying again in the future so this fight may not be over yet sadly! Given that the rejection was also on a very narrow ground, that would potentially make a second application by 4R easier.
Well done to residents who have worked so hard to fight this so far but we need to keep a very close eye on this.
