Created: 30 September 2019
Andrew has received the below update from the EA regarding works taking place today at South Ferriby.
“Slightly improved tidal forecast levels have allowed us to scale back our possible operational response at South Ferriby. We will be deploying a small temporary barrier defence near to Fulseas Drain. This work will start on Monday 30 September 2019 and be completed by the end of the day.
“The need to deploy barriers near to the sluice is not at present considered necessary. Therefore, we would not need to close the A1077, but some controlled plant movements could be expected to transport the required equipment. We will work to keep disruption to a minimum and take into account local transport requirements around rush hour.
“ It is expected that this temporary measure will be in place until approximately Thursday. We will update you as we continue to monitor the forecasts.”
We will be sure to keep residents informed of further updates as soon as we receive them.
