Public Health England have teamed up with Disney and Sport England to launch the Change4Life campaign, the aim of which is to encourage children to become more active.
Andrew says, "Along with the obvious health benefits, physical activity can also build children’s self-confidence, reduce anxiety and improve their self-esteem. However, not enough children are meeting the UK Chief Medical Officers recommendation that children do at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity every day.
"In order to address this issue, the Change4Life campaign has launched before the summer to encourage children to play 10 Minute Shake Up games inspired by characters from Disney and Pixar.
"You can find these 10 minute exercise games online at the NHS website: https://www.nhs.uk/10-minute-shake-up/shake-ups. Each exercise game is based on a different Disney or Pixar movie - Pixar's Toy Story 4 and Incredibles 2, and Disney's The Lion King and Frozen - making exercise fun for children.
"There’s also an online quiz to help children and their parents discover which sports or activities would be best for them to take up according to the child’s skills and abilities."
