The Snaith & Cowick Walking Group is welcoming new members.
Andrew reports, "The Snaith & Cowick Walking Group formed in 2007, with a message that walking is good for your health. They offer a guided walk every Tuesday at 10am, starting from Snaith Station Free Car Park. The walks last for 90 minutes and the areas covered are Snaith, the Cowicks, Gowdall and Carlton.
"For the more energetic, they have also just launched a new four-mile circular walking trail in East Cowick, which was funded by Goole Fields Windfarm Community Fund and the Ramblers Holidays Charitable Trust. The route includes a woodland section, open countryside and also the river bank. There are 17 sign posts which allow walkers to go either clockwise or anticlockwise, arriving back where they started after two hours. There is also a short spur on the river bank allowing walkers to visit Snaith Ponds, a haven for wildlife."
