Residents may remember my previous posts about the need for a new Biometry machine (use for cataracts etc) at Goole Hospital as one of the machines had broken down. I previously reported how funding had been secured for it's replacement.
I met with local NHS managers on Friday and I am pleased to confirm that the new machine for Goole Hospital has now been ordered and should arrive within the next few weeks. This is good news and should ensure full service.
The Trust also confirmed to increase activity in opthalmology in the very near future. There have been delays of late due to an illness but this should be resolved. Having the dedicated suite for this kind of work as Goole has makes it by far the best hospital in the Trust area for this sort of work.
