APPG on Surrogacy – First Evidence Sessions

Andrew chaired the first two surrogacy evidence sessions for the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Surrogacy. The evidence obtained from these sessions will go on to inform the APPG’s report on surrogacy, which will be sent to the Law Commission.

Following the sessions, Andrew said, “It was a pleasure to chair the first two evidence sessions for our APPG report.

"I was joined by a number of Parliamentary colleagues who are also members of the APPG. We heard evidence on the "lived experience of surrogacy" from a variety of speakers from all sides of the surrogacy experience.

"Over the course of these sessions, the APPG is hearing evidence from surrogates, intended parents (IPs), solicitors, barristers, High Court judges, representatives of surrogacy organisations, Cafcass, and psychologists, to name a few. As mentioned above, this evidence will then go on to inform the APPG’s report for the Law Commission.

"Andrew chaired the first two surrogacy evidence sessions for the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Surrogacy. The evidence obtained from these sessions will go on to inform the APPG’s report on surrogacy, which will be sent to the Law Commission.

"Thank you to all the attendees for taking time out of their busy days, and travelling some long distances, to attend the sessions. On behalf of the APPG, we really appreciate your contributions.

"I now look forward to the next two evidence sessions, which are taking place in November."
