Yorkshire Health Partners Limited have been awarded a 5 1/2 year contract by the East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group. The £10 million contract will commence in October this year and will provide “access to routine and same day appointments with general practice (GP) clinicians 7-days a week in additional evening and weekend clinics across East Riding of Yorkshire.”
Goole and the surrounding area will be the first to benefit from this investment, with around 600 additional appointments a week, and then 900 additional appointments per week from April 2020.
Andrew says, “I very much welcome this additional investment by the East Riding CCG and I am delighted that the first area in the East Riding to benefit will be Goole. It is also fantastic news that additional money has been provided centrally for these extra appointments.
“Our local GP surgeries work hard to fit patients in but I often receive complaints from local patients about difficulty getting appointments, especially from those who are working. The provision of evening and weekend appointments is therefore very welcome and I hope that will help address some of these issues.”
