Yesterday, Andrew joined a cross party collection of MPs and Peers for a meeting with Canadian MPs and Senators as part of the Canada/ UK Friendship Group delegation. That evening, he also met with the US Ambassador, Woody Johnson, regarding US tariffs on UK steel.
Andrew said, "It was great to join Canadian Parliamentarians for a lunch meeting yesterday in Parliament as part of the Canada – UK Friendship Group visit. The meeting, which included discussions on UK/ Canada relations, Brexit and other topics, was attended by MPs and senators from Canada, along with a cross party group of peers from the House of Lords and UK MPs.
"Later in the day I met with the US Ambassador, Woody Johnson, to express concerns over proposed US tariffs on UK steel. Message sent loud and clear. His Excellency was charming and genuinely wanted to listen and engage. He is a good friend of the UK."
