Andrew and Cllr John Barrett met with East Riding Council (ERYC), the Environment Agency (EA) and Canal and Rivers Trust for an update on progress to a cycleway connecting Goole and Snaith.
Andrew was encouraged by the positive responses during the meeting and an agreement in principal has now been reached with the EA to utilise some of their canal side track. Having worked hard to secure agreement, Andrew and John are happy to see constructive progress being made.
The proposed route would run along the Dutch Riverside near the Waterways Museum Goole to Dobella Clough Rawcliffe.
Cllr John Barrett said “This was a very useful meeting and ERYC have agreed to look at estimated costs. Andrew and I have continued to work hard to move this proposal forward and I am very pleased to see progress”
Andrew added “We will only be able to achieve this by all the agencies working together in partnership. We need to find funding for the remainder along the canal to link through to Goole and this is now being considered”
