Small Business Saturday will be taking place on the 2nd December this year. The campaign is now in its fifth year and its aim is to highlight small businesses across the UK and their many successes. The campaign’s goal is also to encourage consumers to shop locally and support small businesses in our communities.
£717 million was spent in small independent businesses last year on Small Business Saturday. The UK’s 5.5 million small businesses employ over 12.5 million people. These businesses are so important both locally and nationally.
Last year, Andrew took part by shopping at local small businesses, including the Coffee Lounge in Goole. In order to take part in Small Business Saturday this year, you can go out and support local small businesses either online or in store. The businesses themselves take part on the day with events and by offering promotions and reductions.
