I have been a Community First Responder for over 5 years now in the Goole Community First Responder (CFR) Scheme and we are now hoping to increase our numbers locally. Volunteers are trained by Yorkshire Ambulance Service in basic life support skills, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) and the administration of oxygen.
If you have a desire to care for people in a medical emergency and are willing to be on call regularly from home, you simply need to:
• Be aged 18 or over
• Hold a full driving licence and have access to your own vehicle
• Be on call for a minimum of 7 hours a week
• Undergo occupational health and Disclosure and Barring service (DBS) checks
• Provide a current reference
