The broadband drop-in session for those Burton residents who don't have access to fixed-line superfast broadband will take place on Thursday 10th August, 4.30pm to 7pm, at the Village Hall. This is an ideal opportunity to get more information and to let us know directly if you cannot access superfast broadband or if you are not sure.
As mentioned in my recent letter to relevant residents in Burton, the majority of properties in the village can now access fixed-line superfast broadband. However, approximately 100 properties do not have access.
For these remaining properties, a local resident is working with North Lincolnshire Council to source the grant funding. This scheme will be part-funded by BT and part-funded by a grant.
Unfortunately, due to data protection rules, BT cannot inform us of the exact properties that still need upgrading. Which is why we are asking those residents to tell us directly if they cannot access superfast broadband or if they are not sure.
Of course there is no obligation to sign up to superfast broadband if it does become available. We simply need to show that there is still a need for an upgraded network.
