In order to reduce the risk of flooding around Attlee Drive in Goole, Yorkshire Water have announced £6 million of investment in the Attlee Drive flooding scheme. Before work begins on the scheme, Yorkshire Water will be holding a customer drop in event for residents to find out more about the work. This will be held at St Joseph’s Primary School on Kennedy Drive between 4:30pm and 7pm on Monday the 24th of April.
Yorkshire Water will be constructing a large underground storage tank to hold storm water in times of heavy rainfall. The work will also involve laying new sewers in the surrounding streets, upgrading capacity on some sewers and laying a new sewer across the school’s playing fields.
Construction will start in late May and will be run from a site compound off Fifth Avenue, opposite St David’s Court and next to the railway. Unfortunately, there will be some temporary road closures when Yorkshire Water are working on Kennedy Drive, Pasture Road, Churchill Walk, Fifth Avenue, St John's Court and Attlee Drive. They will write to residents when they have the date and duration of the work.
You can visit yorkshirewater.com/goole if you want to learn more about the scheme.
