Postbox Refurbishment Now Underway

Last month, the Royal Mail had confirmed that their programme of postbox refurbishment across the DN14 postcode would be starting in April. Since the beginning of this month, 18 postboxes in DN14 have now been painted. The refurbished postboxes are as follows:

  • Goole Post Office
  • Thorntree Lane
  • Swinefleet Road
  • Pasture Road
  • Westfield Avenue
  • Reedness Post Office
  • Whitgift Church
  • Snaith Post Office
  • Oxford Road
  • Airmyn Post Office
  • Whitley
  • Field Lane
  • Main Street - Great Heck
  • Eggborough Post Office
  • Garthorpe Road, Adlingfleet
  • Church Lane
  • Two postboxes on Main Street: DN14 8HL (Whitgift) and DN14 8HR (Ousefleet).

The remainder of the postboxes in the DN14 postcode area will be painted over the coming weeks.

Andrew says, “I have been working closely with residents across our local area on campaigns to help improve their local community and I recently joined East Riding Council and their Environmental Enforcement Team for a visit to various sites in Old Goole.

“This visit was all part of an effort to help improve the appearance of local areas and we discussed what can be done on a range of issues; such as getting weeds sprayed, organising litter collections, having postboxes repainted and more.

“I know how hard many local residents work to keep up the appearance of their towns and villages, so I welcome the Royal Mail's commitment to helping with this.”
