Andrew Meets HCA to Discuss Goole 36 Progress

Andrew recently met with the Homes and Communities Agency to discuss progress with the Goole 36 business development site and efforts to market this site to businesses.

Goole 36, which was previously known as Capitol Park, is a strategically located development site in Goole; offering around 100 acres (40.46 hectares) of prime development land just off junction 36 of the M62 motorway.

The site was recently opened up for development through a new link road, which was made possible thanks to £13 million of investment in the site by the government. Andrew worked hard to secure this investment in the town and welcomed the support from the government, which has the potential to create thousands of jobs.

Last year, in his role as Communities Minister, Andrew also signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which made Goole 36 an Enterprise Zone; which will bring tax and other incentives for potential investors to choose this site. The Homes and Communities Agency are now actively working to advertise and promote the site to businesses, with interest strong.

Andrew says, “This was a very useful update meeting with the Homes and Communities Agency on progress with marketing and developing Goole 36. I have worked closely with everyone involved in this project and I am continuing to meet regularly with the HCA as they market the site.

“This site is currently being advertised for advanced manufacturing and renewables and it looks like we are getting closer to some potential deals. I can’t say anything further until everything is signed but I have made clear that we need to see the right jobs created here, with a good mix of skilled jobs for local people. I’ve also stressed that we want a guarantee of every effort to be made to recruit locally.”
